JUST's fifteen-faculty map distinguishes health science from its research centres

This is a useful map of institutional settings, but it is not a single research profile. A question about water, clinical practice, environmental conditions, digital systems, or materials should be traced to the appropriate unit rather than assigned to JUST as a whole.
The centre names make the distinctions easier to see. A water-diplomacy question may require policy documents, agreements, institutional records, or regional analysis. A biotechnology question may rely on biological material, laboratory procedures, and molecular evidence. A sustainable-development question may involve environmental observations, engineering data, community information, or governance material. A nanotechnology question may call for work at a different physical scale and with different instruments. The university overview supports the existence of these named routes. It does not establish which one currently addresses a particular problem.
Applied Medical Sciences names clinical laboratory work alongside rehabilitation and diagnostic fields
The Faculty of Applied Medical Sciences offers a more detailed example within the wider JUST structure. Its research page names medical laboratory sciences, optometry, radiologic technology, paramedics, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, audiology and speech pathology, digital dental technology, dental hygiene, clinical psychology, respiratory therapy, and anaesthesia technology. The medical-laboratory route is further divided into clinical microbiology and immunology, clinical biochemistry, diagnostic molecular biology and human genetics, and haematology and blood banking. These labels are useful because they identify distinct professional and scientific contexts instead of treating applied health sciences as one undifferentiated field.
The faculty page says that its laboratories serve teaching and research, and it refers to links with health and research centres inside and outside the university. Those statements explain the faculty-level setting. They do not promise access to a laboratory, identify an individual supervisor, or show that every named area is active in the same way. A reader considering a specific health question should ask what evidence it would require: a clinical measurement, biological sample, image, rehabilitation outcome, diagnostic record, interview, or policy document. The next useful page is the one that connects that evidence to a defined local subject.
At JUST, a faculty research page should not stand in for the whole institution
JUST's central overview and its Applied Medical Sciences page serve different purposes. The overview establishes the range of faculties, institutes, and centres across the university. The faculty page identifies a particular applied-health setting and names its disciplines. A profile should keep those claims separate. It is reasonable to describe the medical-laboratory and rehabilitation areas as part of the faculty's published map. It is not reasonable to use that page as proof that engineering, law, agriculture, or every other JUST unit uses the same methods or shares the same health focus.
This matters when a topic moves across boundaries. A medical-device question could involve engineering design, imaging, clinical context, physiology, or data analysis. A water-and-health question might require environmental evidence, laboratory work, public policy, and community records. The public pages make several routes visible, but they do not solve the matching task automatically. A careful profile uses the central map to identify possible units and the local page to test a factual connection. That approach is more useful than an institution-wide claim that sounds broad but does not show where the work is actually located.
