Using Harvard information without confusing reputation with fit

Location can be relevant when a programme uses local clinical, research, cultural, or industry connections, but it should be a supporting consideration rather than the main reason for applying. Start with the academic question: what problem do you want to study or solve, and which official Harvard programme has the right faculty, methods, courses, and research environment for that work? Keep a note of the programme name, the official requirements page, and the research evidence that supports the fit. This makes it easier to compare Harvard fairly with other universities on a shortlist.
Before taking the next step, verify deadlines, required materials, test policies, funding information, and any faculty-contact guidance directly with the current programme. If the evidence remains strong after those checks, Harvard University may be a meaningful option. If it does not, removing it from the list is a sensible decision, not a failure. A focused shortlist is more useful than a long list built from reputation alone.
